We have a great opportunity in our own backyard for new mountain bike trails! Mammoth Cave National Park is moving through the special regulations process to open new trails to mountain bikes. Their plan is now out for public comment and IMBA has set up an action alert outlining the process. Please take a few minutes to submit a comment; here is the link to our alert. The deadline for comments is July 17th and we are counting on you to help us get the word out!

As mountain bikers in Kentucky when we really crave to escape into the wilderness and to truly be able to pedal epic mileage we pretty much are stuck with having to travel out of state to get our fix. Winters are always tough on the Forest. It is Nature’s way of working to keep the Forest healthy and a habitat for many species of animals. With the arrival of spring, it is time to gather our volunteers and head out to check the conditions on the Sheltowee Trace NRT. Winter snow and ice can bring down trees all along the trail corridor. Steps, hillside trails can erode with the rain. Bridges can be washed out or damaged.

Fueled by new state and local leadership our mission is to advocate the development of sustainable trail systems across Kentucky through education, awareness and volunteer programs.
