Big thanks to everyone that went above and beyond at Ben Hawes last week. Alex Stewart, the city of Owensboro, the jail crew, and our volunteers made great progress! They completed over a mile of new trail!!! This trail will be a classic “Alex Stewart Trail”, it will be fast, flowy! Alex Stewart ended up staying longer than planned and with help from Scott and Chris together they cut more trail than we ever anticipated. The out and back section from the parking lot is ready for finish work. With enough volunteered help to work on back sloping and some finish work, it could be finished in a couple of weeks! There is quite a bit of trail that is OPEN and ready for traffic but please use caution, it will be soft and slow until the tread is burned in. We need your help with this; ride the new stuff over and over and over. Don’t forget it’s new, so when it rains stay away until it firms up!
