Southwest KyMBA (formally known as the Bowling Green Chapter of KyMBA)  is excited about becoming an official chapter of IMBA. In a nut shell when you join Southwest KyMBA (SW KyMBA) you also join IMBA. Or on the otherside of the coin; if you join IMBA you will join SW KyMBA (simply follow the prompts to affiliate with our specific Chapter of IMBA).  There is strength in numbers and the time has come to leverage IMBA’s size and knowledge to move the needle on trail access for MTB’s in Southwest KyMba’s area.  The Waterfall Loop and Omega Loop are NOW OPEN! Phase III will begin shortly which entails the Point Loop Section and the Beginner Campground Connector. The Brier Creek Trail System is exciting with great climbs, daring technical descents and views of Nolin Lake. We are still having trail build days every second Saturday (9am-noon) every month!
Current Open Trail Lengths:
Waterfall Loop: 1.6 miles – Intermediate with some Advanced Sections due to Natural-Technical Rock Features
Omega Loop: 2.3 – Intermediate with some Advanced Slope Terrain Sections

Brier Creek Trail Update – 9/15/12

Twenty-seven volunteers from the Bluegrass Challenge Academy, Staff Sergeants and KyMBA had a productive day building the Brier Creek Trail system this past Saturday 9/15/12; we had 107.5 volunteered hours working on the trail over the weekend! The first mile of the Omega Loop is now complete and ready to ride. Please use with caution and be aware that the whole Omega Loop is not yet complete. Thanks to all the volunteers!
