Last weekend, we kicked off building the new Brier Creek Trail at Nolin Lake State Park with the Subaru/IMBA Trail Building School. The morning class was very informative and we all put our new skills to use that afternoon.  It was very humid but we still managed to build 500′ of trail. Big thanks to everyone that went above and beyond at Ben Hawes last week. Alex Stewart, the city of Owensboro, the jail crew, and our volunteers made great progress! They completed over a mile of new trail!!! This trail will be a classic “Alex Stewart Trailâ€, it will be fast, flowy! Alex Stewart ended up staying longer than planned and with help from Scott and Chris together they cut more trail than we ever anticipated. We had a great turn out on 6/11/11 for the trail workday at Brier Creek! We had a total of 8 people to work on clearing the corridor for the new trail. We completed clearing about 1.5 – 2 miles of trail corridor! Great job people!!! We had nothing but hardcore workers on 6/11/11!!!!!! Hope to see everyone out on the next trail workday on July 9th!
