Cherokee/Seneca Park Mountain Bike Trails– Louisville, KY

Cherokee/Seneca Park – techy, punchy, urban park, trails dry relatively fast

Cherokee/Seneca offers over 10 miles of singletrack mountain biking within minutes of down town.  The trails are challenging for the average beginner rider.  The terrain has technical root and rock sections and some punchy short climbs.  This is a multi use trail in an urban area so please be a courteous mountain biker.  Take those head phones out, ring that bell and cruise around blind corners with caution.  There are many short road crossings to link up the 10 miles between Cherokee and Seneca.  A plan for better trail signage is in the works.  Use Mountain Bike Project or Trail Forks to help navigate.  Cherokee trails drain the best in the Louisville Metro area and tend to be the go to ride place shortly after the rain.  You can start your ride from just about anywhere in the park.  The gravel lot across from Frisbee Field is a common spot for mountain bikers to park.  Hogans Fountain is another spot, if you want to park near a restroom

Trail Head

Common starting points are the Frisbee Field (gravel lot), Hogan’s Fountain and Wilderness Loop. There are restrooms and water available at Hogan’s Fountain, water at Frisbee Field.
